Speaking during village to village campaign tour in Mulanje Central on Saturday, Nankhumwa, who is also DPP vice president for the South and Local Government and Rural Development Minister seized the tours to inaugurate electricity under Malawi Rural Electrification Program (Marep 8) and Mangani-Chitakale Bridge which he said would spur both social and economic transformation among the people in the constituency.
The Minister said people should protect and use wisely the social and economic projects they have received in the past five years under his leadership as Mulanje Central Member of Parliament in oder to benefit from them.
“The development we are doing here in Mulanje Central should be used wisely and make sure we have voted for DPP during 21 May elections to get more developments for the area,” Nankhumwa said.
Therefore Nankhumwa asked the people in the area to vote for Democratic Progressive Party under the leadership of Professor Peter Mutharika in next month’s tripartite elections in order for the developments to continue in the area and the country.
In her remarks, village head Mangani commended Nankhumwa for the development projects he has initiated during his terms in office which he said has greatly transformed the constituency.
