“This matter was brought before police at Chilipa. We heard that the deceased was taken to Chilipa Health centre before referred to Mangochi District hospital for further medication but was pronounced dead upon arrival,” said Sgt Daudi.

Postmortem conducted at the same hospital revealed that death was due to internal bleeding.

Daudi further said the suspect has been at large for sometime. It is on record that he was hiding in Mozambique and was apprehended in Ntcheu on October 30, 2018 after well wishers  tipped the Police.

Meanwhile the suspect has been charged with murder which is contrary to section 209 of the penal code and will appear before court soon.

The Police is hereby appealing to the public to refrain from taking laws into their own hands whenever they have any kind of disagreements but rather report to relevant authorities  to ensure smooth and amicable resolutions.
