The meetings were part of sharing development agenda being spearheaded by the ruling DPP as well as drumming support for the party from the grassroots.

“Basically the meetings were meant to remind the people of Mzuzu about the development policies of the ruling DPP which are being witnessed in all the spheres of life,” Chikukula said.

Chikukula then reminded the people of the area especially women that the Mutharika administration puts much emphasis at promoting women welfare which will continue.

“I can assure you fellow women that apart from promoting women into various portfolios the DPP led government has passed numerous legal instruments such as marriage age for girls as one way of safeguarding the welfare of women.” She added.

In his remarks parliamentarian for the area Leonard Njikho who is a member of parliament of the area commended the government for bringing a number of developments in the area within a short period of time.

“Be reminded that the DPP led government will continue sharing the development cake without any nepotistic agenda,” said Njikho.
