Work on the remaining stretch of Churchil Road, between Illovo and Midima Roundabouts in Limbe resumed in earnest on Wednesday.

According to Roads Authority (RA), the work-upgrading to dual carriageway- is expected to complete in 90 days.

The part stalled for about eight months after the Blantyre City Council protested the delay in completion by the contractor Fargo Limited.

Ironically, BCC has re-awarded the same contract to the same contractor, at a contract price of K370 879. 95million.

Meanwhile, BCC has embarked on roads and infrastructure rehabilitation within the Blantyre City.

BCC Public Relations Manager Anthony Kasunda said in a statement the council is upgrading the Naperi Bridge near Mustung Sally from single to two lane carriage; maintain Kasungu Cresent and Moi (Chichiri Roundabout to Kwacha Roundabout) footpath and reconditioning Zalewa Road from old Kandodo Corner Shop to Kameza Roundabout.

The projects follow the completion of another in which the city rehabilitated roads constructed by-pass roads.
