Golf tournament returns to Mzuzu after 8-year hiatus

Sunbird Hotels and Resorts Golf Tournament has returned to Mzuzu, marking the revival of the sport after an eight-year break.

75 professional and amateur golfers are competing at the newly refurbished Mzuzu Golf Course, which was renovated by the company at a cost of K250 million.

Temwa Kanjaza, Head of sales and Marketing for Sunbird Hotels and Resorts described the re-opening of golf course and construction of the perimeter fence as a milestone in development of the game of golf.

“We’re thrilled to host this tournament and revitalize golf in Mzuzu,” she said.

The winners in both the men and women categories will walk away with K1 million and the runners-up will pocket K500,000 while the third placed will get K300, 000
