GOVERNMENT ACTS FAST TO ADDRESS HUNGER -CRISIS IN MANGOCHI; AS DoDMA SAVES THE DAY

Government through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA,) has responded swiftly to the needs of hunger-stricken people under Traditional Authority Nankumba in Mangochi.

According to DoDMA over 4,000 households in the area of Traditional Authority Nankumba have been provided with food.

Addressing the people who received relief food (Maize) at Group Village Lizimba in the area, DoDMA Commissioner, Charles Kalemba, emphasised the importance of local leaders staying in such places to be vigilant and report issues swiftly.

Kalemba also assured Malawians that Dr Lazarus Chakwera has emphasised that no one will die of hunger in the country, hence the swift response.

According to Mangochi District Council Publicist, an assessment by the district team confirmed the dire situation, prompting immediate action action from the Government.
