CSOs FOR SANITY

Leaders of over 40 civil society organisations are currently meeting in Mangochi to strategize and revisit their roles and duties in society, having noted that the sector has lost its direction and there is no sanity.

Executive Director for the Centre for Mindset Change, Philip Kamangira, said CSOs operations in the country have diverted and most leaders have become political affiliates, therefore, diluting the essence of their Mandate.

“it is time now that we bring sanity to the CSO sector, it is time we move in the right direction, it is time we make a difference by going back to our original setting as opposed to the usual antagonism, in-fighting, finger-pointing and the political affiliations,” said Kamangira.

Kamangira further explained that the two-day conference therefore will come up with recommendations through a communiqué on how peace, unity and sanity can be brought back in the sector.

The leaders have been drawn from all regions of the country.
