Construction of ICT lab excites learners at Chintheche CDSS

Students at Chintheche Community Day Secondary School in Nkhatabay district are thrilled about the new construction of an ICT lab at their school, anticipating the opportunity to gain modern skills.

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is constructing 75 ICT labs to promote computer studies and modern information dissemination across the country.

A Form Three student at the school, Susan Phiri,  expressed her enthusiasm, stating that the new lab would help her acquire specialised skills and knowledge on various topics such as commerce, agriculture, mining and weather.

Another Form Three student, John Desire Kalumbi, said he looks forward to a brighter his future now that he will have access to computer studies.

Benson Vitsitsi, an official from MACRA, said the initiative would benefit both students and the community by providing modern information access points and boosting economic activities.

Group Village Headman Msundu hailed MACRA for initiative and condemned the behaviour of some students who vandalise school property during disputes.
