President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will preside over a Cyclone Freddy Memorial Service to be held at Mulanje Stadium in Mulanje District.
Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba, has confirmed of the event in a statement.
It marks exactly a year after a mass funeral ceremony was conducted in Blantyre during the time the cyclone had hit the country, which was also attended by President Chakwera, grieving relatives and sympathisers.
At that time, the Malawi leader declared a state of disaster after the cyclone devastated 14 districts in the Southern Region.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, over 1,000 people were killed, hundreds of thousands displaced and at least 44 roads were damaged, with over 40 bridges equally damaged.
