Sosten Gwengwe, Minister of Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for Lilongwe Msozi North, has urged local authorities to prioritise development plans and avoid encroachment on important government spaces to ensure the expansion and implementation of different development projects.
The Minister made the call at Chadza 1 CDSS in his constituency during the launch of the construction of an ICT laboratory under MACRA’s Smart Laboratory Project.
The Minister has applauded MACRA for initiating the smart laboratory project, pointing out that this will build human capital and help produce youths with tech savvy who can contribute to development.
Human Resource and Administration Officer at MACRA, Mary Botomani, said their aim is to bridge the digital gap between the rural and urban population by aligning to the 2063 agenda.
Chadza 1 CDSS is one of the 75 schools in the country where the ICT laboratories will be constructed.
All 75 ICT labs will be completed in 60 days and they will be equipped with 20 computers and free internet for three years.
