The Seventh-day Adventist Church has called on the people to be firm in their faith in Christ amidst challenges the world offers.

One of the organisers for the impending centenary celebrations on October 28, 2023, at Mjamba Freedom Park and Big Sabbath scheduled for Sabbath 30 September 2023 at Soche SDA Church Ground, Elder Mabvuto Wiseman Belo, said the committee is set with all preparatory works for both events.

“Currently we are in a revival week which commenced on Sunday 24 September 2023. We have lined up renowned preachers such as Pastor Zoya, Pastor Kefa, Evangelist Dr Peter Mpinganjira, Pastor Msuka, Pastor Masauko Ghanamba and Pastor Lubani.

“In the first phase, the climax will be on Sabbath 30 September, when the President of Malawi Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists, Pastor TY Nyirenda will wrap up the revival week and lead the congregation in worship at the Big Sabbath.

“From 15  to 27 October 2023  we have organised a mega crusade at Mjamba Freedom Park to be led by Pastor Dr Daniel Chunga from Zambia and the sermons will be live on MBC TV,” said Elder Belo.

Various singing groups lined up to revive the congregation

According to Elder Belo, since 24 September, people from all walks of life are converging at Soche SDA Ground in Blantyre to be revived with sermons and songs from various SDA singing  groups.

Commenting on the development, South Malawi Conference Youth Director, Master Guide Pastor Thomas Chadeleka said the big Sabbath on 30 September 2023 is a precursor to the big day coming on 28 October 2023.
