19,000 Lilongwe households to get free water connection by end of 2024

The Board Chairperson of the Lilongwe Water Board, Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa 5, says 19,000 households in Lilongwe are expected to benefit from the government’s free water connection programme by the end of this year.

The programme was rolled out in April 2022 with the aim of reaching out to 126,000 households across the country.

Speaking on the sidelines of President Lazarus Chakwera’s launch of Kholongo Multipurpose Dam in Dowa on Monday, Mbelwa said so far, the Lilongwe Water Board has provided free water connection to 11,000 households.
